Custom Baby Cradles

The baby cradles I build are meant to be heirloom items. More detail work and attention goes into these cradles than almost anything else I build. All work is put aside when I'm constructing a cradle. Babies don't wait! Plan ahead, however. It's best if I have 12 weeks notice to design and construct the cradle before the baby arrives.

My unique design allows for many customization possibilities. The spindles are hand shaped using an antique spoke shaver. Additionally, the keyed tenons allow the cradle to be completely disassembled in a matter of minutes and packed flat. All the hardware is handcrafted solid wood with the exception of the swing mechanism. I use a non-toxic finish on cradles that is hand rubbed and imparts a beautiful luster.

This walnut cradle features new larger Celtic knot carvings in the body ends as well as carving on the base supports. All carvings are done by hand, not with a machine.

Changing Tables

My changing tables offer a sturdy, attractive alternative to the flimsy, cheap, and poorly crafted models you see in stores. Corner posts are a full 3 inches square providing a stout support system for the cabinet. The top is removable when there is no longer the need for it, and can be replaced with a flat top. This makes the piece useful well beyond the first couple years of parenthood as it becomes a handy, beautiful storage cabinet.

The "Little Saint" Changing Table This changing table is made of cypress and features Fleur de Lis details on the doors. It's spacious drawer provides room for wipes, lotions, grooming kit, etc. that is necessary for a baby. The storage area below has ample room for diapers, wash cloths, etc.

The "Ellis Special" Changing Table This changing table is also made of cypress, but has several spacious drawers for lots of storage space.
