Carving
Carved
pieces are also available. From small plaques to carved
ornamentation, hand carved detail can enrich the appearance
and character of many pieces.

Many chairs in need of structural or finish
repair often need the upholstery replaced as
well. I am happy to provide that service as
well as replace springs, stuffing, etc. If you
want your couch upholstered, I'm not the guy.
I do have a working relationship with a local
professional upholsterer and will be happy to
refer you to them for your larger items. He does fabulous work. |

From
time to time, I get requests for specific
items that don't really fit into any of the normal categories.
Shelves
The
shelf pictured below was made for a customer
who wanted a shelf that followed the contours
of her oven range top, provided ample space
for spices, etc., and blended in with the
style of her kitchen.

The
result was a "piano finish" black
lacquer shelf that straddled the top of the
oven - following the curves and contours exactly.
I also included a stainless steel backing
so the shelf would appear as an extension
of the range itself. |

Display Items
These
display plaques were made for the Marine base here in New Orleans. The larger plaque holds 13 8x10 photos, each with an engraved brass plate describing their award. The smaller plaque has both a photo frame and letter frame for displaying the Color Sergeant honor and letter. Both feature a hand carved display of their local base logo.

 If

I can help you. I've seen a lot of people
staring at the shelves of stains and topcoats
at the local home center wondering what will
be right for their project. Most of the time,
the finish samples provided at the displays
are not accurate and results can vary widely.
Whether
you're refinishing an old piece of furniture
or trying to match your new trim to the rest
of the house, I can custom mix the right finish
for you. I'll be happy to make recommendations
to assist you in choosing the right topcoat
finishes for your application. In fact, I
can mix or provide those for you, too.
