"Dan Alleger has done quite a bit of work for me personally as well as for my office and several of my employers over the years.  In one word….Dan’s work is superb; he is the most professional, detail orientated individual that I have ever met.  The work he did for me personally was truly a miracle, no exaggeration.  I believe he has photos of my storm damaged (received 5 feet of flood water in my home) antique furniture on his website.  Everyone told me to just throw the furniture away that it was not salvageable.  This was also told to me by two other “wood/furniture repair specialists”.  I found Dan and he cheerfully told me that he could do it and boy was he right, my furniture is actually MORE beautiful and in better condition that it was before the storm, truly remarkable!

The prices he charged me were extremely fair and the turn around time has always been acceptable for the work he has done for both me and my company.  I know you will be more than pleased with anything Dan takes on for you.  He can also build you new furniture, which is something he has done for some of the people in my office, also with amazing results.

I’m sure anything that you entrust to Dan will come back to you better than you could imagine.  He truly loves his work and it shows."

"I had numerous great experiences with Dan restoring furniture for us after the flood. His prices were exceedingly reasonable compared with other estimates that I received.

His attention to detail was amazing. He restored two 18th century french wood chairs with tons of detail. They had flooded but also had about 20 layers of paint on them and he painstakingly removed all of the paint from every tiny (and i mean tiny) carved leaf and flower so that the chairs are beautiful.

He additionally almost entirely rebuilt a liquor cabinet from the early 20th century. This cabinet had sentimental value to my family but was not a valuable antique (another restorer dismissed it as not really worth anything). Dan was respectful of my family's feelings about the piece and not only restored the cabinet to its former state, but rendered it more lovely by replacing what had previously been veneer with solid mahogany.

Dan's work ethic is amazing. One chair that we (regretfully but expensively) had restored somewhere else before we found Dan, Dan reupholstered. While he was working on it, he discovered that it had originally been upholstered in a very odd way that could not be repeated. He spent a long time figuring out how to make the cording to go around the edge of the upholstery, and consulted with lots of other folks. All of that effort for just one chair.

So, as you can tell, we are very pleased with Dan's work. He is very reasonable, does beautiful work, and is extremely professional. He is also a lovely person. :)"
